Beatrix's disease course

Thank you for your nice message! Thank goodness my medical history isn't quite as lengthy as yours. In the late summer of 2003, when I was 26, I began to experience slight pain in my left wrist (as a left-handed woman). At first they weren't really strong, but I noticed them while swimming, which was very annoying.

The pain then became steadily worse - but at the beginning nobody at the family doctor took my pain really seriously. Then I went to the homeopath. He tried a few things and then told me that he couldn't help me. After almost a year and more and more pain (I could hardly hold a shopping bag) I went to the doctor again and insisted that some examinations should finally be carried out. After the hand was immobilized (suspected tendonitis!), The gout values, rheumatism values, etc. examined, I was finally referred to surgery.

After the x-rays were still without any results, I was sent to the MRI without a long delay. And in August 2004 I finally had a diagnosis! After much deliberation, I decided to have the operation in October 2004 - an STT arthrodesis in stage 3a was performed. After six months of physiotherapy and occupational therapy, very good results have been achieved. I have reached a mobility of about 65 degrees both upwards and downwards. And I can also carry a water box again. The old pain has completely disappeared - what causes me difficulties are changes in the weather - then I have the feeling that the record is just disturbing! It is also important for me that I do not do too little or too much with my hand! When overexerted, it swells relatively quickly and hurts.
